This book tells the story generational dysfunction and one man's journey of self-discovery that ultimately set him free from the role he was assigned in childhood.  Bob Earl discusses the importance of facing the truth about one's childhood and its effects on adult life.  He introduces the reader to the concept of the inner child by sharing his story of "little Bobby."  Earl emphasizes the importance of self-care and reconnecting to feelings.  He wraps his story up by discussing the elements of true forgiveness.  This is a compelling story and a must read for those in recovery.
